The former Convent of Santa Catalina de Siena, a majestic 16th-century jewel and UNESCO World Heritage site, houses 91 unique suites. Once the nuns' chambers, each suite varies in layout, size, and decor while providing modern comforts. Within the convent's walls lie five patios and gardens, most notably Los Lavaderos. This tranquil oasis features an octagonal fountain with a quarried dome sheltering a series of stone sinks, complete with wrought-iron details, once part of the city's aqueduct. El Refectorio restaurant serves traditional Oaxacan cuisine alongside international dishes in an elegant dining room decorated with large 17th-century paintings and a striking wall showcasing 365 earthenware jars. Meanwhile, Bar Novicias, a former chamber filled with bookcases, oil lamps, and paintings, boasts a cellar stocked with 101 mezcals from 25 distilleries, each crafted from various agave species.
