The hotel, located in the south east of Sri Lanka, is only 260 km from the business capital of Colombo and a five-minute drive from the sacred city of Kataragama. Kataragama is a gateway to explore the rich cultural heritage of the ancient Ruhunu Kingdom dating back to 2nd century B. C. This luxury hotel offers high standard accommodation with large windows, while a predominance of white and terracotta encourages a fresh, cheerful atmosphere. It has 52 rooms in total, as well as a full bar and a restaurant. The rooms are well appointed and fully air-conditioned, and include 2 suites and 4 family clusters. All rooms are spacious and cosy, with standard double rooms of approximately 40 m². The accommodation is tastefully furnished with facilities including satellite TV, telephone with international direct dial facilities, in-house movies, a minibar, electronically operated safe deposit boxes, remote-controlled air conditioning and tea/coffee making facilities. Equipped with a unique underwater music system, the hotel boasts the largest swimming pool and children's swimming pool in the region. A variety of indoor entertainment is also offered, including pool/snooker and karaoke facilities. Dining in the elegant air-conditioned Petal restaurant is a gourmet's delight with exotic Sri Lankan cuisine and delectable Table d'Hôte menus complemented by a variety of wines and liquors. Careful planning has gone into selecting the right choice of food for those pilgrimages to the sacred city and a ‘Pure Vegetarian' meal, with fresh garden vegetables and fruits, is served as part of the all day dining menu.
