Mohua Park is 3 km from the start of the Catlins River Track (extended walking, cycling, birding or trout fishing); within 30 minutes drive are the attractions of Nugget Point (rugged coast, yellow eyed penguins); Surat Bay (NZ sealions), Purakaunui Falls, Papatowai (beach and forest), Tautuku Bay; within 1 hour, Cathedral Caves and Curio Bay's petrified forest.
