Ruby Charm Houses sits on Ilha Cardoso, a traditional working class courtyard in the heart of Porto, where resident families still live alongside our guests. Six independent houses open onto a shared urban vegetable garden, and each one keeps the original doors, cupboards and tiles, restored rather than replaced. Accommodation ranges from single level studios for one or two guests to two storey houses with a mezzanine bedroom and a sofa bed downstairs, sleeping up to three. Every house has a private bathroom and a fully equipped kitchenette. Included with every stay: free fibre WiFi, use of the vegetable garden with its tables and barbecue, and local advice from a team that lives on site. Guests are welcome in the garden and we ask only for a small packet of seeds in return, any kind you like. Available on request: jacuzzi at 15 euros per hour booked 24 hours in advance, laundry service, airport transfers at 25 euros each way, and city tour tickets at reception. Reception is open Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 19:30 and at weekends from 10:00 to 14:00. Check in from 15:00, check out between 08:00 and 11:00. There is no private car park. Public parking is available in front of the property, subject to availability, and guests arriving by car are asked to let us know in advance. The houses have stairs and mezzanine levels and are not wheelchair accessible. Faria Guimaraes metro station is a five minute walk away and Marques eight. Porto city tourist tax of 3 euros per guest per night, up to seven nights, is payable on arrival.
